Modeling of the Surface Semidiurnal Tide and its Enegetics in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, Including the System of Hudson Bay

Kagan B. A., Sofina E. V.

The 3D finite-element hydrostatic model QUODDY-4 is used to study the surface semidiur-nal tide in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago (CAA) and the system of Hudson Bay. Esti-mates of tidal prediction errors are presented in the nine subdomains of the domain consi-dered. They as well as model parameters of barotropic tidal velocity ellipses are more or less satisfactorily agreed with available data of ground-based measurements. Modeling re-sults for energetic characteristics (density, horizontal wave transport and dissipation of baro-tropic tidal energy) are discussed.
