Forces on Oscillating Foils for Propulsion when Heaving and Pitching Motion are out of Varying Phase

The approximate expressions of hydrodynamic forces were used for to construct the ma-thematical model of the flat and rigid wing with different form and aspect ratio when pitch-axes location varies and heaving and pitching amplitudes are sufficiently large. A peculiari-ty of this model is usage of the first order aerodynamic derivatives coefficients and kinemat-ic parameters. To calculate the thrust when heaving and pitching motion are out of varying phase the formulas were derived. The results of calculations agree well with numerical solu-tions.
