On the Use of Shock-Absorbing and Damping Devices for Lifting ‎Loads from Deep Waters under Various Sea States

Sukhorukov A.L.

Nowadays there is a tendency to development of ever deeper oil and gas fields due to depletion of ‎hydrocarbon reserves onshore. Thus lots of lifting operations have to be carried out during infrastructural ‎development of such fields. The present work, on the basis of Fourier finite integral transformation ‎method, gives solution to the problem of lifting loads from deep waters taking into consideration wave ‎and dissipating processes in lifting ropes. To reduce forces additional shock-absorbing and damping ‎devices are introduced into the system. The effect of these devices on maximum forces realized in the ‎system during the process of load lifting is currently being analised.
